The company was initially established by Texas highway contractors for the purpose of providing workers' compensation coverage. TBIC provides workers' compensation insurance to companies domiciled in the state of Texas. TBIC's past emphasis has been construction companies, but has diversified its book of business through independent agents since 1996.
